Stimulated by the peak season in the PC industry, the Taiwanese ODD (Optical Disk Drive) industry grew steadily in second half of 2007, with shipment volume reaching approximately 48.75 million units in this period, up 16.5% in comparison with the second half of 2006. Shipment volume in the third quarter of 2007 reached 24.80 million units, up 21% year-on-year. Shipment volume in the fourth quarter is estimated at 23.95 million units, down 3.4% sequentially and up 12% year-on-year. Full-year shipment in 2007 amounted to approximately 88.67 million units.
